RESULTS OF THE 11-11-11 MARATHON OF SARASOTA
Congratulations to Justin Gillette, 28, the overall champion of the 11-11-11 Marathon of Sarasota. Justin blazed the course in just 2:34:50 to take his 37th overall marathon championship!
The female champion was Lisa Barry Walbridge, 40, of Haslingfield, England, who finished in a time of 3:30:30, shortly before 11:11:11 am, then immediately married the third place finisher, Jared Walbridge in a ceremony on the course. In all, 66 of 67 runners finished the marathon, and 1 of 1 finished the half marathon.

11-11-11 MARATHON OF SARASOTA
The 11-11-11 Marathon of Sarasota has it roots 1400 miles away in Northfield, MN. That is where the renowned Zoom! Yah! Yah! Indoor Marathon takes place at St. Olaf College, every January. That race is run indoors, with about 40 runners, 150 laps, and more fun that you can ever imagine. Well, move the location outdoors, warm it up by about 80 degrees (from -20), and shorten the number of loops to just 58+, and you have an idea of that the 11-11-11 Marathon will be like.
It is guaranteed to be one of the most fun, most energetic, and most unusual marathons that you will ever run - and it is all about the bling. There will be 11-11-11 everywhere, a BIG finisher's medal, age groups of three people and medals for the top three in each age group, finisher towels, free food, and oh yes, it is in beautiful, sunny and FLAT Sarasota. Normal November temps are a high of about 70 and lows about 55. Come, run and enjoy!
